Sustainable Food Systems (19th May/20th in APAC)

The COVID-19 crisis has brought how to many people the critical importance of agricultural outputs and food production.  Meanwhile, many countries have experienced a variety of extreme weather events over recent times, highlight the risks to agricultural ecosystems and the natural environment more broadly.

With this in mind, this edition of ESGX Live will focus on Sustainable Food Systems.
We will explore the following questions:
  1. How has COVID-19 affected our food chain supply system?
  2. What measures can food producers take to keep their workers safe?
  3. What agricultural techniques and approaches create more resilient production yields?

Our special guests will include:
Picture
Tony Mahar, CEO of Australia's National Farmers' Federation, the peak national body representing farmers and agriculture across Australia.  He comes from a farming background in south western Victoria and has worked in and around agriculture for the majority of his working life.

Craig Wichner, Managing Partner of Vitality Farms and of Farmland LP.  Farmland LP is a sustainable farmland investment company that buys commodity farmland and adds value by securing organic certification, investing in infrastructure and increasing crop diversity, thus increasing the land’s value and enhancing the environment.
