Labor Day: The Productivity Dilemma + August Green Jobs Report

Overview
Live show
Join our monthly Green Jobs Report for a regular update on how the ongoing health and economic environment is impacting the workplace and the role that green jobs and a green new deal can play in helping to rebuild stronger, more resilient, more inclusive economies.

This month, in addition to our regular green jobs report, we'll reflect on the history of labor and workers rights in modern history.  We will also discuss the following questions:
  • How has government policy succeeded and/or failed to bolster up our labor market during the COVID pandemic?
  • What future government policy measures can incentivize both safety and productivity?
  • How will government income support taper affect the hospitality and leisure labor market?
  • Are green jobs safer and/or more fulfilling for workers?
  • How can we avoid unemployment and poverty as we transition to the next economy of greener jobs?

Our regular guests include:
  • Dr. Fadhel Kaboub, Associate Professor of Economics at Denison University, and President of the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity
  • Dr. Scott Fullwiler, Associate Professor in Economics, University of Missouri at Kansas City
  • Amir Khaleghi, PhD candidate in Economics, University of Missouri at Kansas City
