This is monthly Green Jobs Report for October 2020, with our regular update on how the ongoing health and economic environment is impacting the workplace, and the role that green jobs and a green new deal can play in helping to rebuild stronger, more resilient, more inclusive economies.
With the travel and tourism sectors particularly badly effected by the COVID-19 outbreak and economic downturn, we're thrilled to be joined by Sara Nelson, International President, Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO, where she has served as International President CIO since 2014, representing 50,000 of aviation’s first responders at 20 airlines.
Described by the New York Times as "America's most powerful flight attendant" for her role in helping to end the 35-day Government Shutdown, InStyle Magazine placed her on their 2019 Top 50 Badass Women list. Amongst other initiatives, she crafted the campaign for "100,000 Eyes in the Skies," which successfully resulted in mandatory training for Flight Attendants to recognize and report human trafficking.
