The climate crisis is here, reflected in a growing number of increasingly severe floods, storms and droughts around the world. And yet to date climate action has been slow, and there are few real "green shoots" of progress.
Last month, leaders from government, business and civil society convened in Egypt for COP 27, seeking to build on the commitment made in Glasgow a year earlier to take the actions necessary to limit warming to 1.5C. As has been widely reported, to many it felt like little real progress had been made. Accordingly, in this episode of ESGX, we will explore the following questions:
* What were the innovations at COP27 and why do they matter?
* What climate action gaps still need closing, and what are the implications?
* Where are green jobs growing in the US and the world?
We'll be joined by special guests Lina Constantinovici (founder of Innovation 4.4 and the BVC Fund investing in technologies for healthy oceans) and Ian Monroe (Founder of Etho Capital), as well as our regular Green Jobs team:
and also your regular co-hosts Paul Herman (HIP Investor) and Nigel Lake (Pottinger).
As always, this episode will be live and interactive, with a particular focus on practical actions that businesses, governments and individuals can take -- and the economic and ecological benefits of doing so.
